He's saying that labor was under 500; So I understand that its 500 + the parts? 500 in labour is a steal indeed; but not in a good way! This shouldnt take a mechanic more then 3 hours. If he charges more either he is incompetent, dont know what he's doing or obviously lying.
I dont know why so much people pay to do this. Take your time and its very DIY-able. If I did it, everybody could. I'm not a mechanical guy at all but if you can distinguish nuts and bolts, you should be ok. But you have to get the good parts in the first place for sure. |
