Yeah instead of just impounding your car and charging you with about a $1500 ticket, Mexico will just put you in jail for however long they want, take all your possesions from you, sell out your car, and possibly threaten your life with the druglords/mafia that really run the "authorities" down there.
They may even hold you for ransom if they are in a good mood.
Good stuff down there, too bad they don't keep it down there.
