Shortening the strut is what Koni mentioned on the phone earlier as well, its a smart process. I will have to hit reset on the piggy bank and save up for your kit and sell the same up I'm piecing together for someone looking for good performance and a moderate drop.
The only other way I can think of getting strut travel back is a pretty slim strut mount at this point. I have both set's of top hats, AWD & RWD E90.

Was this your setup? The kW coil over housing with koni yellow stuffed in the middle? I have a set of kW v2 for a rwd with blown shocks and brand new koni yellows, trying to figure out what to do.
