Its still interesting that Koenigsegg did this record attempt.
Christian von Koenigsegg said a year ago (or so) that he didnt think top speed was really that interesting because it was largely dependant on what tyre technology the car maker had to his disposal (so what kind of development deal they had with tyre producers....hinting on that Bugatti had a very exclusive deal with michelin getting some really special high speed tyres)
Back then he called out to Bugatti for the 0-400-0 challenge, as he said that that was far more representative of true supercar performance.
Of course after Bugatti did that 0-400-0 attempt this summer, Koenigsegg was very much waiting for that and broke that record within a month or so.
With this record attempt they also did a new 0-400-0 run (because the last one had wheelspin despite getting the record), on this same stretch because of the good conditions, and got that time also 3 seconds faster (now in total ca. 9 seconds faster 0-400-0 than the chiron)
Both records are of course a huge achievement for a very small company that made such incredible innovations (triplex suspension, z shaped antirollbar, freevalve valvetrain etc) in automotive technology and arent backed up by a huge multi billion $ multinational.
Now only a good nordschleife lap time is needed to proove that its more than just raw performance. (last attempt for that didnt go that well though....)
