I've tried doing some searching with an issue like mine but had no luck finding a thread/post, so forgive me if it's been repeated a bunch of times.

I have a 2007 CCC unit and for the past couple months or so the maps seem to randomly cut out on me. In the Nav window it'll say "DVD Read Error".

I've been using a burned copy of the 2015 maps since 2016 without an issue. The disc (somehow) has some very very very light scratches on it. I can take the disc out and put it back in and usually the maps will come back on, but if they do, they'll eventually just cut out again - could be on the same day or days later.

Is this a problem with the unit itself or the disc?
