The racket was more likely due to an unbalanced or misshaped blank.
The blanks can often vary in quality.
The eBay DVD's are often churned out by people who do low volume copies as a sideline.
Their burners are typically worn and not calibrated nor maintained as mass duplication machines can be.
That is why a new cheap burner is a much better option. Less chance of worm gear or positioning errors and misalignments.
