One value is open and one valve is closed during startup. Depending on your climate, this is very easy to see when the temps are cooler. You'll see water vapor only coming from one pipe.
The OP now has both valves opened, which results in both valves being opened along with a louder startup exhaust sound.

Actually if your tuned, the code does show as your tuner will pick up ghost codes to show you what BMW will see. BMW is able to see this code but you won't with a regular OBD2 reader. Honestly not worth it just for a louder start up. You never know if they would want to give you at hard time when taking your car in for service. |
I've done this same mod on at least my last 4 bimmers and I've never had any issues (knock on wood).
