The problem is that many times you must be in their state, as they won't sell at MSRP out of state. People were buying cars out of state at MSRP then selling them to CarMax at $5K over.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I remember trying to get my '18 for MSRP in '18, fat chance. They wanted $10K over. Even in 2019 they wanted $5K over, so I had to buy used in late 2020. That was pre-pandemic.
The whole BMW price thing is out of control, and the pandemic/shortages have just made buying a new performance-oriented BMW literally crazy now.
