Well, the earlier numbers mentioned were in the 150kg range for the weight gain so 96-97kg (210lbs) seems not as bad, relatively speaking. Most cars get bigger and heavier with every new generation so 5-6% increase in weight seems ok to me as long as it is balanced with equal or higher amount of improvement in power, brakes, tire width etc.
I don't think it's unreasonable to get this car to 3500 pounds though.
