I'm not sure, it seems like a pretty cool concept. I've never done autocross so I wouldn't know for sure but this seems more interesting. It's like sim racing but you actually get the g forces and everything else you normally miss out on.
One thing I am curious about is latency. I wonder how immediate the inputs are from the car to the augmented reality/VR. Either way this seems like a pretty cool use of VR tech. I'd still be terrified about something going wrong and plowing into something.
