Side note, I actually recommend using auto start/stop if you have a manual.
I usually hate auto start/stop, but it works well in the G87. In my experience it only stops the motor when you are not moving and in neutral, and it restarts the motor as soon as you start moving the shifter towards 1st gear.
As a result, the motor is running by the time you get into 1st, so it doesn't impede you at all. Save gas with no downsides? Yes, I will do that!
