I'm not sure what convicing you need. Materials, manufacturing process, design, QA, certs for safety etc. all cost more money than taking pipes bending them and attaching a logo on it.
Carbon/magnesium wheels are another step up. Wheels and tires are the only things connect a 3,000 - 6,000 pound car to the road. You don't even need an exhaust for a car to run.
But I guess it's just a matter of perspective? I'd 100% pay $10k for the best wheels in production vs. $10k Titanium pipes. But to each their own.
Also, I'm not questioning anyone's choice. People spend way more money on dumber shit. You brought up the comparison between wheels and pipes lol.
