Exactly. I had a G42 M240 and now a G87 M2. The M240 although an awesome car and plenty fast isn’t even in the same ballpark regarding handling, power and performance as an M2. I noticed the difference immediately on my drive home from the dealership, it’s a completely different car.
I think the fact that M division does have some input into the M Performance vehicles with the engine, chassis, exhaust, etc allows them to keep them in the same sales figures. It’s all business at the end of the day.
