I think the clamp is not designed properly. the ends on the clamp bends easily and too flimsy for the job. BMW is learning a lot from China on the material quality and material gauge, but not on the price.
I just replaced the plastic valve cover. The plastic crack easily. Even the new ones stored in the warehouse deteriorate overtime. After I solved the oil burning issue, I noticed the exhaust leak. Both are due to cheap material and light duty design.
