Yes, I have this same problem. Just had a software update done to my car (2009 E90 335i) this past week.

When a song is playing, artist and album information is not displayed. Album art is not displayed. I'm using the BMW y-cable to connect my iPod classic.

Would love to hear from anyone that might now how to fix this issue. I searched the forum and could not find a solution.
