Yes and if you live in a wet area with 3-4 seasons which include leaf shedding etc. the AWD on a performance car make a lot of sense. There’s plenty of slick spots around but it’s unusual you hit them with all 4 tires at the same time, having Xdrive shifting power around make for more rapid and sure footed journeys in all but dry summer than the RWD only car.

The M2 will no doubt be the more exciting car, preferable by many including myself but I doubt the M2 will render the M240i irrelevant unless it does include an Xdrive version. The M240i is a stout and fun performer and by no means an over dressed pretender.
