FWIW just to show you there is some variation in drain plug tightening torque, from the engine oil change section of my Porsche 996 Turbo:

Tighten the drain plug on the crankcase to 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) those on the oil container [tank] to 60 Nm (44 ftlb.), and the drain plugs on the turbocharger to 30 Nm (22 ftlb.).

The above is not to suggest you should use any of those values but use what BMW calls for.
I was told on this forum that BMW calls for 25 n-m, or 18 ft-lbs. I think I saw a video online with the same. It's also the same as the oil filter housing top on my E36 M3. BMW uses quite a small diameter drain plug compared with other cars I have, so 18 ftlbs sounds about right.
