BMW can always sell one without the xDrive like they do now. I think of it like having the best of both worlds (if you offer both) instead of limiting it. I'm not saying don't offer a manual, but a BMW M car being built in Mexico & having more technological assistance & parts than ever before is not what BMW used to be anyways.
I wish I could get the walker joke but it's a bit confusing for me. Why would I want a walker when my hypothetical version would be faster than yours in every measurable category? (Basing this off the fact that the xDrive M3 beats the RWD in every track/test I've seen). That's the set up I would have the most fun in & be the fastest in as well.
xDrive is a make or break for me. The majority of my driving is in the straight line & occasional canyon driving. The extra weight of it wouldn't bother me, nor would the extra price.
