Longer version: The rule of thumb has been the cheaper the M car, the better the depreciation curve. You’ll be fine with an MSRP M2 even if the overall car market goes back to normal. There are few lower TCO experiences than a brand new, warrantied, “cheap” M purchased at the beginning of the generation. 1M, OG M2, M2 Comp - any losers in that group?
