They've offered that in the past for their cars but not for M cars. There's not enough of a gap in power to do so between M models.

shafting' anyone that was an early adopter. Having fewer options etc. comes with the territory of being the first on the bandwagon. Anyone that decided to buy the car did so because they wanted it sooner than later. Nothing wrong with that, but you can't cry foul when newer models and options come out later. Furthermore, the power bump, colors etc. are all coming for the LCI model which is the 3rd MY of the G87. For a car that will only be in production for 6yrs I'd hardly call that '
so soon'.
If your question is more broadly why BMW is doing this, it's simple. BMWs bottom line is the same as any other company, it's to make money, period.
