Word on the Audi forums now puts the first RS3's in dealerships in Q4 2022. These will be fully optioned. Audi/VAG dealers in general are really aggressive with "market adjustments" so MSRP + 5-10k like the Golf R. That's going to be an expensive RS3 and will put it so far out of M240 territory it's not even really in the same ballpark.
Audi is also having production problems because their wiring harnesses are sourced from Ukraine. People with deposits in are not expecting to see their cars until 2023.
I was shopping in November 2021 and saw the writing on the wall and jumped from the RS3 idea to the M240i. I ordered a car and got it in under 6 weeks. As a comparison of how automakers are competing, BMW is clearly way ahead when comparing these 2 cars.
