In Alberta speeding tickets are more a monetary issue than anything for up to 50km/h over the limit. Typically more than several tickets (doesn’t apply to photo radar) in 3 years will see your driver rating drop and potentially having to use ‘facility’ insurance (effectively dropped by normal insurance companies), which could see rates double or triple that could push M2 insurance up to $6000 per year or more.
