Generally speaking, All-season / 4 season tires with AWD are fine for the occasional whiteout, "passable" for moderate snow, but more useless with increased icing or snowfall depth.

I had a 6 cyl 2011 Mustang (~300hp RWD) that was absolutely treacherous in the slightest coating with the factory A/S (non rft of course). But once I installed a set of Michelin X-Ice winter tires it was game changing.
