I think they underestimate the value of these shows; takes a lot of touches from marketing and advertising in different ways and via different channels to convert a customer. Many automotive manufacturers are moving towards having displays and unveilings at events like Amelia Island and Pebble Beach.

BTW, Studies have previously revealed that auto shows do not tend to generate a lot of revenue later on at dealerships. This was prior to Covid. I would suspect Covid has only further pushed remaining manufactures to bail out.
