If you are the kind of person to fully load out your cars you won't be happy with a base m4. If you are fine without carbon buckets you won't be getting them in the m2 either.
So when specced to feature parity you are saving ~$10k for a car with the same engine (slightly lower power), same suspension, same transmission and a smaller wheelbase.
