It depends on what you value. 230i will objectively handle better due to lighter weight, better weight distribution, and RWD. BMW has quietly abandoned their commitment to 50-50 weight distribution and are nose heavy these days...

I wonder what the xDrive take rate was on previous gen M240i? I rarely see them in the southeast. A small, sporty coupe is the type of car where AWD is the least fitting IMO.
I Am totally waiting for Canada to get the 230i xDrive.
Canada is not expected to get any RWD G42s.
The price differential is a factor, and the positive impact on steering and handling of reduced weight up front.
