have you used iD8 in person? it's not smooth. it operates like it has a lower refresh rate, or at least the one at my dealer did. both of the reviewers here complain about the entire system just being slower too

i think the LCI update will be sweet, hopefully by then BMW sorts out a proper way to integrate screens that look cohesive/purposeful and perform well
