Without the active cruise control option, I don't believe there is any braking for cars ahead except for emergency braking. I've seen dynamic and adaptive cruise control also used for cruise control that keeps the car moving the same speed when going down hills.. which is hardly a noteworthy feature.
Yeah.. i was basing off another commenter.. the 'mystery' has since been solved...i just have to see if i care enough to deal with talking to the dearlership...and whether i'll have to sign another P&S for them to add this feature
