And that's exactly what they are going to do; offer the same carbon fiber - esque bucket seat styling, minus the carbon fiber composite, in order to keep the cost down..
Word on the street is a single G8X carbon bucket seat replacement goes for about roughly $8,000. So, naturally, if they are trying to keep the M2 within a certain price tier, it can't possible have all the amenities reserved for the M4 - unless you're willing to level up to a CS version.
I've seen similar cost-reduction strategies on the standard BMW design, where the M car model's suspension components are identical in design to their lower-cost counterparts but instead of stainless steel, they are made of high-grade aluminum..
