FYI, BMW does not manufacture the transmission, Gertag or ZF does. It would be an operating cost loss for them as well. BMW used to source, I believe, fairly nice Manuals (I know a lot will disagree), I loved my 2002tii’s and my E46 is great though has a slightly long throw, now they seem like an after thought, though suppose that makes since since all the $ is in the autos these days.
