Because they have less weight over the front axle. However, the S58 and ancillaries is quite a lot heavier than the B58 and i stand by that it sounds worse, much like S55 vs N55. But I grew up on 90s cars with inline sixes so getting closer to that sound is what I prefer.

I agree it doesn't sound as good but add a midpipe and they sound even better
