When I tried the 340, it felt a little soft for me - it's why I went with the M3. The 2 has more or an edge to it. But I love the 340, and such an improvement over the F30 335 I had.
I think all GXX chassis BMW's are significant improvements over the FXX chassis BMW's. If my F36 drove and felt like a G20 3er, it would be the ideal car for me - it's just that much better.

There's no mistaking the performance of the M240i. I think for me, it comes down to it being a coupé. In the BMW line up, the M240i is the coupé to get - you're not wrong there. But for me, overall M Performance model has to go to the M340i until I get some serious seat time behind a M440i Gran Coupé.
