I personally don't care for the HUD in a non M car. It's not that useful as it doesn't show the gear #, at least not in my M340i. So I don't think you're missing out.
But…… the M340i xDrive is about 1.5 sec quicker to 60 than a 330i. That's substantial and translates to the G42. The 230 and M240 xDrive will be different driving experiences. If the HUD matters that much then get the one with the HUD that is the more capable car anyway. If it doesn't matter enough to spend an extra $7k or whatever, get the one you want.
