Well, I am pretty low keyed and takes a lot to get me super excited. My first impression was pretty much as expected but not to over use a phrase “it looks great in real life” and I am fortunate to get to see it and sit in the car. It reminds me the first time I saw my G42 M240ix in Portimao Blue at the Performance Center for delivery. Wow that color was awesome in real life and I was very happy. Similar situation here with the G87 M2 in Zandvoort Blue. I think the car looks great and has a unique presence and is not like all the rest of the cars out there.
I like it, but then again, I am a big fan of the G42 M240ix. I don’t care what other people think or like. A guy walked up to me and said ugly things and I just looked into his eyes and said “I like and I am getting one”. He just walked away. The BMW attendants would not open the hood to let us look into it, stating it is a pre-production unit and can’t show it. I think we discovered this M2 was built in March this year.
The BMW fans are a very fickle bunch and I don’t expect everybody to like the car, but I do. I think this car is going to be a hit when you consider the performance, unique looks and a realistic price point.
