Yes, lot's of things that go into road feel. That being said, as many here have posted, other manufacturers have electronic steering AND good road feel. That electric motor is governed by software, with input from sensors. It is tunable, and the tuning chosen by BMW is - according to the opinion of many here (including me) - less than optimal. It is not what we expect from 'The Ultimate Driving Machine'. It is not what those of us old enough and/or with long enough memory, experienced with previous BMWs.

It's a shame. That along with size creep. From E36 to E46, to E9x coupes, to the 1 series (perhaps the epitome of a great driver), to the F22 and now the G series.

There's no manufacturer that is pushing BMW to excel in this class.
