Charging publicly vs at home is dependent on the region. I charge exclusively NOT at home because Tesla supercharger rates are typically cheaper than my home rate. Plus they are so abundant in Southern California I'm not concerned about range or anything like that.

I will say the other charging companies appear to be awful. There is an EVGO next to a tesla supercharger and it's crazy to see the lines and about half of their chargers appear to be down at any given time.
