I did a 550klm return drive today. The car was brilliant. I noticed that compared to the M3/M2 I have owned, this gearbox is so much smoother! It is as engaging, however there is no aggressive downshift from slowing to a stop like the older m cars. It's just so nice.
Again not trying to compare the raw ability of the M240 against a true M car, I am comparing how much nicer the M240 is for a daily drive.

Yes, it’s a car that makes you smile and focusing on specific areas that aren’t perfect or as good as on an M car is kind of pointless unless you are on the track. Fun is fun and this is the first non M car I’ve driven in decades that put a smile on my face and not just make me pine for the glory days of BMW when all cars were fun
