Not true since the M2 will be RWD only. Will the M2 be more exciting? You bet but it will cost a lot more and lack the all weather traction of the M240i.

If I needed awd, I'm not looking toward a tiny arse two door coupe.

And it's not about the CF. It's everything to do with the W I D E body and M team R&D to handle the rigors of hobbyist track duty.
Due to copious snowfall here in Tahoe, ALL of our vehicles have to be 4WD/AWD. So when we wanted a sporty small car the M240i was the natural choice. We already have 2 other larger vehicles that fit the typical SUV and truck use case. The M240i rounds out our stable nicely.
