What you are describing sounds like the usual wastegate noises from the gas cars. Does it change in character if you switch from comfort, to sport, to ecopro while cold and noisy?

Oh I thought the original posters issue affected all the F series platform.
It does seem to be less noticeable in comfort versus when in sport mode.
