I agree and I'm coming from a row of M3s as well and to be precise the M240i is my wife's. My next BMW will be another ICE M before they are gone. The M240i is a true joy, the things I do miss vs an M3 is the feeling of robustness and the front end of the M240i isn't nearly as crisp. Then once you are used to Merino leather, it's pretty nice

So an excellent street car lacking little but it ain't no M and if you know for sure that type of car is your preference the M240i isn't ticking all boxes and it shouldn't. My wife prefer it over the M3s so there's a clear niche for both.
Yep. Makes good sense.

I did a 550klm return drive today. The car was brilliant. I noticed that compared to the M3/M2 I have owned, this gearbox is so much smoother! It is as engaging, however there is no aggressive downshift from slowing to a stop like the older m cars. It's just so nice.

Again not trying to compare the raw ability of the M240 against a true M car, I am comparing how much nicer the M240 is for a daily drive.

I love this car so much!
