Amount of heat desired is a personal preference, but I found when moving from others brands to BMW, the wheel heating is must less warm that other brands. With that said, I found it comfortable to leave on all the time, being just warm, compared to other brands where I would need to cycle it on and off because it gets too hot. I'd say it's "comfortable" for me.

The G42 steering wheel gets warmer than I recall my F22 being. I see no way of adjusting it within the head unit, and I don't recall seeing any way to code it warmer when I dug into basic coding.
