N47 Excessive back pressure

Hi everyone,

I've got a 2011 318D automatic. I replaced my turbo as it was making noise. Under further investigation, I used soapy water and found an exhaust leak at the turbo's actuator arm. I have come to believe this is caused by excessive back pressure as there should be no pressure at this point.

I looked at the exhaust gas pressure it was at 30mbar at idle, did an on-car dpf clean and got this down to 6 mbar. But again still has the exhaust leak. Next cleaned the EGR valve and cooler no change. Finally changed the turbo for a second hand one, no change.

The car drives fine and has no fault codes. Has any one got any ideas?

Thanks

Hey mate,

Do you have dpf? or gutted dpf? The place is something refered to as safety pin.
