On my first new car everything was an option..even the light in the glove box. Also had crank windows and no A/C. Of course, it cost a whopping $6,200.

I understand your arguments, but you are obviously someone with common sense. A rare traight among Americans. We are a society of morons who depend upon legislation to make sure that nothing bad can ever happen to us. When it does, thankfully we have corporations that we can sue because it couldn't possibly have been our fault or just bad luck. Just because your kids are strapped in and there are not car jackers lurking near your wife's parking space does not mean that's the same for everyone.
