Join the BMW Car Club of America which will also get you membership in the BMWCCA Tarheel Chapter within your region. They are a very active group who put on several track events every year which include different levels of activity. https://www.tarheelbmwcca.org/calendar.html

Check your insurance before taking your vehicle on the track; most likely damage that occurs there is excluded. Ask the club folks if they think track insurance makes senses at your skill level and such. And, check your warranty as it also may have exclusions for track use. If all that seems too much, there are BMW events where you drive their cars, and some other organizations that do similar things (pay to play). But start with the BMW CCA to learn enough to make an appropriate decision for your situation. |

Be sure to ask the organization if they allow SUVs on track. I know some (many?) don't, even for top-dog performance SUVs.
