Recommended wheels for 09 328i xdrive

Hello, I am looking at getting new wheels but I have read different things online about xdrive cars. I will probably go with a 17 inch diameter but outside of that I have no clue. When I was reading about xdrive, some people recommend all wheels the same size and others said differently. Any guidance is appreciated.

I don’t see why you can’t go with staggered 18 wheels and tires. Two sets came with my e90 335xi, winter 17s and summer staggered 18s…bmw is definitely ok with running either on the e9x xdrive.

I wouldn’t venture outside of oe specs. Ex: I wouldn’t run 19s, or spacers

Go there and plug in your current and new wheels and see the difference.
The only important part for xdrive is to keep the circumference of the front and rear wheels the same.

17 or 18 diameter, 9 inch wide, offset 30 all around. 255/30r18 or 255/35r17 all around.

I would agree with the above except 255/40R17 is the correct diameter. That's what I'm running on my 2008 328xi and it looks great and handles great. Tons of grip.

With an all wheel drive car you have to have the same diameter wheels front and rear. You can run a staggered setup, like a 225 front and 255 rear, but it won't benefit you at all, especially if you're concerned about handling. It'll make your car understeer more, and the all wheel drive BMWs already have plenty of that. Plus if you get a square setup you can rotate your tires and get more miles out of them.

APex has some nice lightweight wheels for good prices. I was going to get their 17X9 wheels but found some BBS ones in a junkyard instead so I went that route.
