I was removing the rear seats on my E92 M3 and noticed this cable that is not connected to anything. It's under the rear right passenger seat.

Does anyone happen to know where this cable is supposed to be connected to?

I have the same. No its not meant to be connected. Probably similar to the cable not connected near the battery. Its used during transport so battery doesnt discharge.

BMW used to do pre wiring on cars up till 2009 .
This meant the wiring was in place for most options only
the module and programming needed to be added.
You will find quite a few non plugged in wires depending
on which options where left out .
The do not put in fuses for options that are not installed either.

The wire you are looking at is probably the one for shipping the car in deep sleep mode.
