Fault Code 4F85 is "Passive". It CAN be set by low transmission fluid. Any shop that can put car on lift with engine running can check fluid level. See the link below for BMW Fault Code Lookup Fault Info sheet for 4F85:

I would simply call several Transmission Shops & ask them what their charge would be for Fluid Level Check on ZF 6HP19 AT. Make sure they have correct spec. for Fluid. If any question about procedure (Engine must be running as final 2 Qt. of fluid are added), or proper fluid, please post back. If you have NOT had the fluid or Filter changed in last 50,000 miles, NOW would be good time for that.

If its not a fluid level issue you probably need a trans rebuild. There a bushing or a clutch drum that wears out. Neighbor had this fault with his 08 535 XI. Had the trans replaced to fix it. Google that fault I believe there is info out there.

Found this in about 10 seconds:

As stated in Post #2 above, any decent local transmission shop should be able to check fluid level in your ZF 6HP19 Automatic Transmission. The fluid level is checked with engine running & vehicle Elevated & Level. If additional fluid is needed, the ZF requires ZF AFT, Lifeguard 6:
