I have family in Tampa. Multiple properties. They've all left. Furniture lifted as high in the house as possible, shutters, electricity off, and other typical preparations.

Thankfully for them, it looks like the eye is hitting south of Tampa, which means the winds will push the water out of the bay, and the flooding shouldn't be too bad for them. Not the case for folks south of the eye though, that storm surge is going to end up somewhere.

Trying to sift through this thread. My 2008 e91 (N52 with 6AT) has 347,261 miles. The wagon has been great with clean Blackstone oil reports, but beginning to look for something newer. Perhaps a PHEV?

But maybe branch out from a dude who was paid for by the oil and coal industry to spin up bullshit.

Regardless, I'm done with the climate topic. Let's talk about ev fires again and again.
Lol. Always the same retort. Lol.

And you left out Big Tobacco.

Plug in hybrids seem to be catching on much more that full EV's which have long term lithium battery life and fire risk at the forefront on more and more peoples minds.
PHEV's with a very small (and much safer) lithium battery to take you without engine for around 35 miles, and a seperate normal battery for engine running. The only thing I see here is if you should get critically low on gas then switch to your hopefully fully charged electric to get you by to find a gas station.

Oh my days... that's because there are far more (millions upon millions) gas and diesel vehicles on the road than EV's. You of all people should know that
