Yep, I've been following the market too and you aren't wrong. I would say handful, if that, of RWD 6mt cars.

And the color is my one hang up. However, there are some things I could do to update the look but color is what it is. That said, tastes change over time - there are plenty of colors when at the time they were new, people hated them, and with age they've become more popoular. Not that I give a chit what other people think, unless I was going to sell it at some point. Mainly whether or not I could live with it.

A guy could do some things with this car and make it something of a sleeper too - there are plenty of ways to go with it....

This car is a bit unique in that it has sport package - and that's pretty much it. Base stereo, no cold weather package, no fog lights, no premium package, virtually no bells and whistles. Has had oil changes every 3500 miles. Within the last 10-20k has had water pump done as a preventative measure. For the mileage, the front end is nearly immaculate - he's had this front end bra/cover on it all the time.

In 08, with ~ 8000 miles on it, it was a manufacturer buyback. Reason is unknown at this point, but it's on the title. He said it's been a flawless car for him. It's his "ski car", from the Tuscon area to the Sierras, and if all it's ever seen is highway miles, that explains the brakes and clutch.

It's a little hard to know what to offer here. It's a pretty bare bones car, with the stuff that matters - sport package. I know he says the clutch and brakes are good but at 100k, these are on the horizon for sure, especially because it's going to see more mixed driving with me than it has for him. I also suspect it may benefit from a suspension refresh at this point due to just gradual wear over time that may not be so apparent to him compared to new.

Any thoughts or advice on that?
Worth noting that the base stereo for pre-LCI E90s is optional on LCI. Option S676. It's also the best/easiest to upgrade. I have a TechnicPNP harness for an aftermarket amplifier and Morel speakers and it's much better than factory E90 HK/Hi-Fi DSP. Sounds like the brakes definitely need to be done, but I wouldn't sweat the clutch at 100k miles. I have 181k on my E91 with the original clutch and it still feels great. My old E46 had 230k on the original clutch and still had life left when it was pulled.

It took me almost 5 years to find a well maintained E91 RWD MT with sport package within 1000 miles of me. Mine is LCI but similarly spec'd, purchased a year ago with 112k for $14k. I contacted the seller about 15 minutes after the ad went live and had $1000 deposit to him within an hour; when I spoke to him, he said he received 10 inquiries in that hour. Grey over grey wasn't my ideal color choice, but with 1 owner and a binder of maintenance records, I wasn't holding back. My previous auto xDrive was loaded with options but the heated seats are the only option I really miss.

Basically, if you know you want a manual, RWD E91, don't hesitate if you find a good one.

So far, the stereo is the only upgrade I've done on mine. With the Technic's harness and power kit I was able to install the amp in under hour. That made a much bigger improvement in sound quality than replacing the front speakers (but I didn't spring for the Morels either).

Also, no issues with the original clutch that had survived 112k miles of Atlanta traffic.

No way you can "have" one built for that price, maybe DIY, maybe.

I thought the same, would require some really savvy shopping, a lot of patients, and still may have to cut some corners for that budget.

Thanks very much for chiming in. What do you think about the need or imminent need of a suspension refresh at this mileage? It's not a hard job and parts aren't too crazy but it, along with brakes, could be a point of negotiation. Otherwise, there isn't too much to pick at.

I wish it was closer, but I've travelled for cars many a time before. This might be the furthest...lol.

Hard to say without driving it. My guess is that the suspension feels tired but doesn’t immediately need replacement. I’d check to make sure the shocks/struts aren’t visibly blown and also inspect common items like the TRBs. I had an M sport 335d that I purchased with 165k miles. The suspension wasn’t blown but it definitely didn’t feel like fresh sport suspension.

2009 328i | 4,460 miles | RWD | 6AT | $17,500 | WBAUT935X9A191144

Lowest mileage E91 I've ever seen. Sadly the dealership said it already sold for $17.5k. Watch for it to show up on BAT

Garage List
2017 BMW M3  [0.00]
Please let me know if this is not allowed here. I’m just looking for a price.
2011 328i RWD AT
Alpine white / saddle brown
Non heated seats
98k miles
Sport package
A few modifications:
Airlift suspension, 19” Rotiforms, Alcantara steering wheel and custom carbon leather interior trim, M3 mirrors
Some pros:
Factory shadow line exterior trim
RWD
Sport package
98k miles
No rust
Some cons:
Leaks
Front and rear bumpers need resprayed
Some hail damage; small dents but several
Cracked windshield
Throwing around the idea of selling my E91. It needs some obvious work but I’m questioning if it’s worth putting in the time and money to potentially just get the money back from selling for more. Interior is 9/10. No rips or stains, just slight wear mostly from my elbow on center armrest. I don’t have service records as I do all the work myself. I bought this car in CA in 2018 and moved to WA in 2021. It hasn’t seen the WA salt though so no rust underneath. Clean title in hand, clean history as far as I know. Everything works as it should (windows, sunroof) but it does have an aftermarket head unit (previous owner). It’s a pretty base model car, aside from the sport package. Halogens, non heated seats, base stereo, non m sport. Located in the PNW but might consider shipping the car if it’s under the buyer’s expense. If anybody could help me with a ballpark value of this car it would be appreciated!

It's allowed but you really should do your own homework, or you might get numbers like Free or 50K. Thinking you know that BaT is out there and they have a chart that lists prices of cars sold and CnB and BaT will bring up all sold cars as a way of kinda getting the price right.

Maybe this one is worth a look-see?
