CIC IDrive Controller retrofit wiring

Sup bimmer bros. 08 335xi here. I pickedup a CIC controller along with the harness needed for it to power on for my non drive to idrive retrofit . WHERE can I find connector x13812? Might be a silly question but I’m having trouble locating what connector that is exactly. To my knowledge I’m supposed to connect Pin #1 (red - Power) from controller to Pin #3 of connector x11003 of fuse box. Thats the blue connector on the back of the JBE for my year correct? If so I have no trouble finding that. My only issue here is locating x13812 because it seems like the rest (ground, orange, green) of the wires go to x13812. Id like to keep it super oem but if there is an easier way to go about this that would also work THANKS IN ADVANCE MY BROTHERS🙏🏾

the power for whole audio/navi headunit goes to the driver footwell near FRM and there is socket where plug for audio harness is connected, which then goes back to driver seat and in a front of it it goes near tunnel under heater to headunit
so it is ok to make a joint behind headunit and route positive cable to the controller under tunnel trim.

I have done 3 of these retrofits now. The first was full OEM and totally not worth the extra effort. Just hook the power and ground behind the CIC. Then hook to the CAN BUS that goes down the center console by the parking brake. You want your CAN BUS to be as short as possible. My controllers only have 4 wires. Not sure what is going on with your picture.

the can bus laying already under tunnel is going to airbag modules
for the idrive i would make the joint also behind headunit, there is cable with kcan which goes to CIC monitor.

The factory controller hooks to the can bus wiring at the parking brake. If you run the controller CAN to the CIC or CID, you will get interference and the controller will not work correctly 100% of the time. This is especially true if you have an aftermarket carplay that hooks into the controller wiring. In that case, the controller won't work at all.

Hi hope you're well. I'm doing the same cic retrofit and have been scouring the web for information about the controller wiring. In my case, I have already located 2 ports on the quad lock where I'll be plugging the CAN high and CAN low controller cables into, however, I'm struggling to understand the type of power wires involved in the controller wiring. Am I correct in saying that there is one +12VDC live wire and another -12VDC live wire? If so, are there any oem connectors I could hook these up to or wires that I could splice with? I was considering splicing the +12VDC live controller wire with the +12VDC live screen wire, but I don't think I can splice the -12 VDC live controller wire with the -12VDC ground screen wire. Would appreciate any feedback. Kind regards, Nabeel
